The Agilent 200 series high speed gas chromatograph is capable of giving c1 through c5 plus co2 every 30 seconds.  This instrument has an accuracy down to several ppm for each component.  Our  software then  uses the molecular weight of each component to calculate the total gas. this along with each component is then reported to the logging computer.

Model TG: Total Hydrocarbon Gas Logger
Model TGC: Combines a Model TG with a gas chromatograph
MLogger instruments combine proven catalytic combustion and thermal conductivity gas detection technology with modern computer hardware and software to provide a true digital mud logging instrument. They provide a linear response from 1% to 100% methane with computer controlled switching between filaments, as gas concentrations change. The instruments are easily calibrated in the field, using 1% and 100% methane for the Model TG and and certified calibration standard containing C1 through IC4 for the Model TGC.
